Life is just like driving a car. Wit had once told me before about this when I was writing Life = Sunset. Oh yeah? Why? I asked her back, hoping to hear more from her.
"Well, in life, we must always look forward. But sometimes, we also have to look back, at the past. Besides, life is also full of obstacles. It’s just the same as when we are driving a car; a driver must always looks forward, peek through the rear mirror once in a while, and always be alert of his surrounding by making use of both his side mirrors, wisely."
Okay, that is interesting, I said. But that’s not the end of it.
The most interesting part is that a driver must have a destination. Or else, you won’t be heading anywhere. And it is quite stupid to enter a cab, say hello to the driver and said “Oh well, I don’t know where should I go”. The same goes with L.I.F.E. We need a destination, an objective, a mission, a vision, and a dream of what we are planning to do with our lives. Simple questions such as What am I going to be for the next ten years, Where should I work, What do I plan to achieve in my life and etc must be constantly generated and answered in our six-layers-of-cerebral-cortex. It’s good to remind ourselves, replenish our motivations, and get us back on track.
Be a good driver and always follow the rules. Say no to speeding. There is no need to rush. Just drive slow and steady, enjoy your journey, and don’t forget to have a look at the beautiful and fascinating scenery along the way.
